Description
The Thermalux Clarendon Legacy is a mid-sized wood-fired cooker that combines traditional styling with modern functionality. Proudly Australian made, it is designed for homes where wood-fired cooking, space heating and optional domestic hot water are desired, while offering a more refined freestanding appearance with elegant cast iron doors and Queen Anne style legs.

The Clarendon Legacy features a generous cooktop with removable hotplate covers, a single oven, firebox and ashpan, with room for everyday stovetop and oven cooking. Its fully welded construction uses stainless steel, mild steel and cast iron components, giving it a strong, durable build suited to long-term use. The unit comes standard with Queen Anne style legs, or can be installed on a suitable non-combustible plinth for a more customised look.

Available as a dry unit, or with optional 5kW or 8kW boiler configurations for domestic hot water. When paired with a solar hot water system, it can provide seasonal flexibility, with solar supporting hot water in warmer months and the cooker assisting during cooler months.

Supplied accessories: 1x Firebox heat shield, 1x Oven wire rack, 1x Stainless cooking tray, 1x Hotplate lifter tool, 1x Spindle turner/ashpan remover tool, 1x Pair of fire gloves.

The Clarendon Legacy comes standard with a Metallic Black cooktop. The remainder of the unit is available in the Pioneer colour range, including Metallic Black, Charcoal, Metallic Blue, Golden Fire Brown, Moss Green, Mauve, Mojave Red* and Surf Sand*.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the β€œLegacy” different from the original Clarendon?

The Clarendon Legacy includes cast iron doors, which provide improved durability and heat retention, along with an additional air intake below the firebox for improved combustion control. It also has a more refined freestanding appearance, while retaining the practical cooking performance of the original Clarendon.

What fuel can I burn in the firebox?

The Clarendon Legacy is designed to burn dry, seasoned hardwood. Other solid fuels, including coal, should only be used where specifically permitted in the user manual and by local regulations. Wet, treated or unsuitable fuels should not be used, as they can reduce performance, increase creosote build-up and affect the longevity of the unit.

Is it solar-compatible?

Yes. The Clarendon Legacy can be intergrated into a compatible solar hot water system to support hot water production during cooler months. This can provide a practical year-round hot water solution, depending on the system design and installation.

Can I see the fire and the food?

Yes. The Clarendon Legacy comes standard with glass viewing doors on both the firebox and the oven, giving you wood-fired ambience while you cook.

Are the legs standard?

Yes. The Clarendon Legacy comes standard with Queen Anne style legs. If preferred, it can also be ordered without legs for installation on a suitable brick plinth or steel cabinet.
